Hyderabad: The life story of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will now be showcased on the big screen. The announcement for this biographical film was made on Wednesday. Titled Ajay: The Untold Story of a Yogi, the film is based on Shantanu Gupta’s book The Monk Who Became Chief Minister. Along with the announcement, a motion poster of the film was also released.
Motion Poster Released
In the motion poster, actor Anant Joshi is seen portraying the role of Yogi Adityanath, depicting a man who renounces the world to serve the people. In the background, the voice of veteran actor Paresh Rawal can be heard, saying, “He desired nothing, yet everyone desired him. The people turned him into the government.” Directed by Maharani 2 fame Ravindra Gautam, the film also features Dinesh Lal Yadav, Ajay Menghi, Pawan Malhotra, Rajesh Khattar, Garima Vikrant Singh, and Sarwar Ahuja in key roles.
Film to be Released in Five Languages
The title of the film is inspired by Yogi Adityanath’s birth name, Ajay Singh Bisht. Scheduled to release in 2025, the film will hit theaters in five languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The music is composed by Meet Brothers, while the screenplay has been penned by Dilip Bachchan Jha and Priyank Dubey. Vishnu Rao is the director of photography, and Uday Prakash Singh is the production designer.
Director’s Statement on the Film
Speaking about the film, director Ravindra Gautam said, “Our film is a great source of inspiration for the youth of our country. It presents the journey of a boy from a middle-class family in a remote village of Uttarakhand who rises to become the Chief Minister of India’s most populous state.”
Yogi Adityanath has been serving as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh since 2017. He holds the record for being the longest-serving Chief Minister of UP, completing eight years in office. His birth name was Ajay Mohan Singh Bisht, and the film’s title is inspired by his real name.
